Strep Throat

Strep throat is a bacterial infection in the throat and thetonsils. The throat gets irritated and inflamed, causing a sudden, severe sore throat.
Well, that's what WebMD.com defines strep throat as. I define strep throat as a pretty awesome sickness! :) I know that sounds bad, but whatever. It is. And here's why: I felt truly awful on Monday. I woke up and I was achey (Is that a word? Oh well.) all over. My throat hurt, my foot hurt (God knows why, I didn't do anything to it.), my nose was all stuffed up, and I was having a little trouble swallowing. I wasn't expecting this, but my mom let me stay home from school. I was pretty happy, but went back to bed in spite of myself.
So I stayed at home all day on Monday. I didn't really do much, though. At about 7:00 P.M. I remembered the homework I was supposed to do so I hopped on the computer and finished most of it.
On Tuesday morning, I woke up and could barely swallow. Plus, my throat was still very sore. I kind of wanted to stay home again to finish the rest of my homework, but I could have lived with going to school. My mother decided to be very nice and let me stay home again. So, I crawled back into bed and slept until 10:30. :) It was quite lovely. At this point, I had quite a bit of homework left to do but I didn't do very much during the day-as I was making some coffee cake, which turned out pretty poorly-thinking I would do it all after my mom got home.
However, she wanted to take me to the doctor. I complied since I didn't feel like doing my homework yet. We went to the doctor's office and he took a test for-can you guess?-strep throat!
Until then, I hadn't really thought of my ailment being strep throat. Thinking it over, I realized that all of my symptoms pointed to strep. When he came back and announced that the test was positive, my mom goes, "Dr., I think you just made a new best friend!" She was pretty much right. When we left, I said, "Bye, best friend!" I was stoked, to say the least. :)
So, today is Wednesday. I'm watching Julie & Julia and remembered that I have a blog. So here I am, sitting in front of my computer, typing.
Here's my clever goodbye:
Until next time...
